The coACTION democracy process: The ‘QA Guide’ describes how the school succeeds in introducing and sustainably implementing democratic measures. All members of the school community are taken into account: From school management to teachers and learners to parents, the activities range from what it takes to take collective responsibility for children's development.
The coACTION Sensor consists of a package of questionnaires for the individual target groups and makes it possible to find out where the school currently stands with regard to the use of democratic procedures. Each group answers the relevant questions from their own point of view and the overall picture of the school emerges from this.
The Democratic Empowerment Platform (DEMP) is the centrepiece of the project. All measures, processes, procedures and activities that enable the school to act more democratically are summarised here. Short videos, presentations, descriptions ... a colourful variety of methods shows the practical approach to more democracy at school.
Finally, in the ‘Year of Democracy’ pilot programme, 10 schools from the participating countries have the opportunity to get their institution on track. For one year, they are supported in the introduction of the standard process described above by the coaches of the coACTION project.
