Genially

Explore structured training courses designed to guide schools through different aspects of democratic participation, inclusion, active citizenship, and the Whole School Approach. Each module combines practical activities, reflection opportunities, and ready-to-use educational resources.

2. The coACTION Sensor

The coACTION Sensor is an interactive tool designed to help schools assess and better understand their democratic culture through the Whole School Approach.

Using questionnaires completed by different members of the school community (including teachers, school leaders, learners and families) the Sensor generates statistics and visual results that provide schools with a clear overview of their current situation.

The results help schools identify strengths, detect areas for improvement, and better understand topics such as participation, inclusion, collaboration, communication, and shared decision-making within the school environment.

Based on these insights, schools can define development priorities and access relevant resources, tools, and methodologies available on the coACTION Platform to support their democratic school development journey.

Below you can explore the tutorial explaining how the coACTION Sensor works and how to use it step by step.

3. The Treasury of Tools and Procedures

Discover a wide collection of practical methodologies, classroom activities, collaborative tools, and educational materials designed to help schools implement democratic practices in everyday school life.

4. Year of Democracy

The Year of Democracy is the roadmap that guides schools through the entire democratic development process across the school year. This section helps schools keep the big picture in mind while implementing the Whole School Approach in a structured and meaningful way.

Through the Year of Democracy, schools receive a strategic overview of the different phases of the project, helping them organise actions, follow progress, and reflect on their democratic development journey.

A central element of this process is the coACTION Diary, a practical tool used to:

  • Document progress
  • Record reflections and experiences
  • Track actions and milestones
  • Support continuous school development
  • Make achievements and improvements visible

The Year of Democracy connects together the coACTION Sensor, the training modules, and the Treasury of resources, helping schools transform ideas into practical democratic action throughout the school year.
